Default removing tranny casing

ok guys, i have a ys1 cable ls tranny in my garage. im trying to pop it open to get to the gears. but i dont seem to get the casing open, i removed all visible bolts, i rember hearing that i need to remove a clip some where, but i dont see any. i was able to get the casing open with an inch inbetween the casings. but it doesnt go any further than that. TIA

Ok, on the very outside edge of the tranny there is a "plug" that you remove with probably a 3/8" rachet with no socket on it (some are 1/2").

Inside there is a clip that locks the end countershaft bearing to the casing. Use 2 screwdrivers to hold the clip apart while you pry the gear housing from the clutch housing ...
