I plan to buy a short ram intake. What kind of intake would work best on a 06 Type-s

 

injen comes with a heat shieled but to be honest get a cold air with a by-pass valve that way you wont have to worry about hydro-lock and you'll get better preformance.

 

Hold off on the short ram unless you have to get it. Even with the heat sheild it can only do so much, after all it's still in the engine bay. Cold air all the way. AEM and ingen make good ones.

 

cold air or nothing, i got a SR intake and felt a power loss between 4-5k rpm's. I put back on the stock air boxs and feels like it pulls much better. (saving for a cold air at the moment)

 

I have a DC Sports on my 05 Si and it has better throttle response and overall greater power. Cold air may technically be better, but short ram is more versatile, requires less maintenance, sounds better, and still provides a reasonable amount of power increase vs. stock.
