when you need a new head gasket does your engine build with pressure

You should be losing pressure if you blew your head gasket, if you built pressure, all the mad tyte JDM kids would be runnign around with no coolant.

Maybe your mechanic was mis understood .. maybe he ment you have a blown head gasket and its building exaust pressure in your cooling system usually a good sign of this in a honda is a crack in the upper radiator tank, being the factory radiators have plastic tanks. Alot of folks mis diagnos this and replace the thermastat and radiator and few weeks later the new radiator has a crack in the upper tank again becuase the engine is pushing exhaust into the cooling system. Cooling systems are ment to hold coolant not exhaust . just a thought

thanks alot for the info but the leak is in the bottom of the radiator. the radiator is metal.Is it hard to replace a radiator, rate the expierence level 1-10

Yeah, I just blew my head gasket a couple days ago...

If your holding or building pressure it's not from a blown head gasket.

yeah i heard that its pretty hard to change the radiator and that you should let a shop do it for you cuz it can be tricky sometimes for honda owners to do by themselves

OkThe repair books they have at autozone and kragen. Do they offer detail iinstructions on replacing your radiator.
