from a value standpoint, i have to go with the 06 Si. Better suspension, similar if not better engine, lsd, and CHEAPER price.

looks like the rsx is winning so far
but then again we are in the rsx forum

anyways
i have a 06 type s vivid blue
tonight i was driving and a white si pulled up next me....nice car but i can't imagine giving up my s for it.... one thing is the gauges ..really turns me off.. but anyways the guy thought he was all bad *** and took off
he prolly thought i was afraid of him lol

but i think acura is a much better choice
better resale same if not a little more performance, looks nicer bad *** gauges
higher class of car over honda....
both are good cars
Rsx-S has the looks originailty style performance and better resale
SI lsd and its cheaper thats it.... i guess its what u like
is there a place on honda tech where i can post this thread ina neutral place and not the rsx forum?

I'll vote Si for value, but RSX-S for utility and looks. I paid more to get the hatchback and the (IMO) better looking car.

Also for originality - The RSX only has 2 trims, the base and type S, and this is the last year it's out, whereas the Civic comes in a multitude of trims and is brand new. This means that in the next year or two, a Si will look like every other Civic out there, while the RSX will only get more and more rare.

Other than that, the two cars are very similar and you can't really go wrong with either one.

I test drove both and I went with the Type-S. The overall feel and quality of the Acura is superior. And at the end of the day I like thinking to myself "yeah... I drive an Acura." Haha.

They are both hot cars, so it really comes down to preference. The DC5 may lose some resale value since they are discontinuing the model soon. Just something else to think about. A big decider for me would be leather or no leather. Then there is the LSD in the Civic. Do you want to feel a little luxury around you or more sportiness?

Wouldn't the resale value go up since it is being discontinued?

Nope, not talking about a Ferrari here. When mass market cars go out of production they will fall in value. Maybe not a free fall, but they will lose value a little faster.

I would have to disagree... For example, the prelude has held its value tremendously since they stopped production on it. I just recently sold mine for $9,500 with 105,000 miles on it - and it was almost 10 years old too (97). You're not going to get that for a civic...

My vote goes towards the Type-S

Exactly, I just bought a Type-S last week and I could have gotten the civic as well, but the fact is the amount of RSX's you see on the street will decrease, and the civic's will increase. The ACURA RSX is more luxurious, I mean comeon, which one is gonna get you the most girls?? and the RSX is quicker and has a more powerfull motor K20Z1 &gt; K20Z3 anyday....the suspension might be a lil better on the civic cause honda learned from the RSX, but we'll all gonna drop the living hell out of our cars anyway. An lsd will cost you around $1000, but it'll cost you a lot more to get luxury, respect, and quailty out of your civic.

An Acura may be a Honda but they are more luxurious and when I go to the Acura dealership they seem to treat me with more professionalism than they did when I went to the Honda dealership. Obviously this is based on personal experience but to me an Acura is more on a standpoint of a mini Lexus to some degree.

I have an 05 Si now and I am partial to Hondas. I have always liked the Integra and then the RSX was always nice, but I was always drawn more to the Civic vs Integra or RSX. For 2006, I would say that the 2006 Si is a bigger bang for your buck, however the RSX is a great car in it's own right, and being the last year of production, would make it the choice if you plan to keep your car around for a good many years. Forget about "being treated better at the Acura dealership". You are a customer and will get the same treatment anywhere, if that is not the case, then the issue is YOU, and not the brand on your car.

As for:
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by PearlBlueType-S &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The ACURA RSX is more luxurious, I mean comeon, which one is gonna get you the most girls?? </TD></TR></TABLE>
That is the most ridiculous thing I have read today! If you need a car to "get you girls" then maybe you should work on yourself and not worry about a car. Forget about girls. Most girls think my car is ugly because I have a carbon fiber hood and "it's too low" (it is lowered .5"). Do I care? Screw 'em!!
