Default just got viper 791xv installed ...cheap?

well here it is, just got it installed and i thought this would of been a good alarm but when i open the door softly with the alarm on it dosen't even go on

were the installers lazy or is itjust me, i mean i read on there that there is a door thing and trunk to notify if it is open.

and my power locks don't work so i asked if they could just rig it some how and they said they couldn't unless the locks work themselves?

were they just being lazy....i'm really pissed about the door thing tho

H-T installers help me out
thnx in advance

Well were should we start, So you say the alarm does not go off if you open your door. Does your dome light come on if you open your doors? If the dome light comes on when you open one of your doors it means they tagged the door trigger wrong. With the door trigger tagged correctly it should report on the controler as the door. The trunk would show up as the trunk it it was tagged to the trunk trigger. Some shops charge extra for this, some don't, I like to do for sum customers that are cool, If it a pain to do , I charge extra.

The door locks are the same. Some shops charge extra for door locks. I include them as a basic alarm install. Now if your lock were not working before they are not responsiable for them to work now they put the alarm in. I would check the door lock control modual in the driver door. I would take the car back to them and have them fix the door. To me that just plain lazy. On a teg its easy to tag.

Its not the alarm fault. you have a great alarm. The alarm is as only as good as it installer. You can have the worlds best most expensive alarm and if it installed azz backwards and not right. It useless.

Also if your car had problems before the alarm was installed. I.e.- door locks not working, broken door triggers. They are not going to work when the alarm is installed. Remember some installers are not going to go overboard on fixing your car. If they did not break it they are not going to repair it. That would be extra labor. Thats how we make are money and our living.

Also I don't think your trunk is going to work because if they did not do the dors correctly i doubt if they would take the extra couple of sec or min to wire it up. Did they atleast give you a hood pin?

omg i just went outside and checked and i tried the dome light on and off and to when u open the door the light comes on.....nothing happened i can open and close the doors including the trunk without even a chrip from the alram.

what should i do?

i mean it comes with these features yet they weren't even installed/ being used.

i don't really mind the doors since they were not working at the time but...damn.

don't complain, take your car back down there and ask to talk to a install manager, explain your situation and let him know your door trigger is not working. There should be know problem with them fixing it. as far as your locks if they were not working before you added your alarm they are not going to work after the alarm is installed, the alarm uses the factory trigger to unlock and lock the doors, if they dont work, alarm not going to work. simple as that. Going down there with a hot head is not going to get you anywere. The door trigger is a basic hook up a best buy.
