Ok heres the deal. I had my 01 shipped from CA to NC using a transport company. Well the retard of a driver droped one of the ramps on my back glass and hatch. I had my spoiler off so it dented my hatch and busted the glass. The ? i have is a guy i work with sold me a jdm itr hatch w/ glass for $100 and i like the no wiper concept, but dont want to ruin its oem integrity. The trucking company's insurance is paying for all the damages, $2400, but I just would like some other opinions. Any feedback is appreciated. By the way, my car is 100% stock besides motor work.

 

I personally would go with the wiper delete only because i live in sunny southern california and hardly use the wiper. Considering you live in an area that sees rain you might actually benefit from a rear wiper although even in rain, water usually sheets right off. Either way you can't go wrong, you can always delete the rear wiper later if you so decide.

 

I would just paint the jdm hatch and pocket the rest of the money.

Sounds the best to me... I have used my rear wiper once.... To get bird crap off the rear window.

In the two years I owned my rear wiper assembly I used it a grand total of twice. I would throw the JDM rear hatch on and get it painted. I would use the remainder of the money on some rain-x and whatever mod you seem fit. I'd call it a good day after that

 

There are a few yellow hatches on car-part.com right now, one is in Ca. If you could pick one up in excellent condition it might be a good option. No painting necessary that way. Anyone here have a CF hatch and want to sell their PY one?
