walmarts probably arent stainless if theyre really cheap. most wool is regular low carbon steel.

Buy the one made for the dishes/pots/pan. They are stainless.

the strands arent very small on the pots and pan scrubbers though. Not that they wouldent work but I bet the finer stuff works better to tame the mighty roar of a honduh. $33/lb is a bit much though...maybe a machine shop could make some for cheap or something.

McMaster-Carr has 5 lb reels of type 424 stainless steel wool. 3 different grades, coarse $66.93, medium $66.93, Fine $81.45. My catalog is a couple of years old, 3500 pages of the most interesting things you can imagine. http://www.mcmaster.com
