HIDs in stock housing.
Been there, done that. I now have a retrofit, and I'll never go back.
I suggest just doing the 9006 -> 9005 bulb conversion if output is that important to you. It allows you to use high beam bulbs in your low beam socket.

i agree with crono. I have done a ton of research on HIDs in the past few weeks and i would never buy a hid "kit". they are total crap. either get a retrofit or rock some silverstars like everyone else on this board

I have an aftermarket headlight, with some "angel eyes", black housing.
I would like to upgrade the lights, but when I read things like you guys are saying that hid kits are crap and stuff, that makes me wonder.
So, those of you who disaprove hid kits.... why is that?!
How bad was it like the light on stock housing compared to retro fit?!
Thanks...

HID kits are just no-name crap made in china with rebased hid bulbs made to fit in a halogen housing. Someone with a HID "kit" sticks out light a sore thumb because their incredibly bright lights shine right in your eyes, and you may want to jump out of your car and beat them to death (or is that just me?) just pony up the extra cash for the real thing
exactly, I did the H.I.D. bulbs in stock housing and can say one word GLARE!!! it was bad but aimed down it's not too had but the Hot spots and scatter bothered me enough to retrofit some S2k projectors in there and let me tell you the light output in awsome razer sharp cutoff . no glare it has the purple flicker that we try to copy with colored or high temp bulbs. of course it's the most expensive because of the projecters + labor and the HID kit but it's i feel better not blinding oncoming traffic with glare.
