Default Got into an accident last night......

PICS ARE UP

Welp i'm pretty sure my car got totaled last night guys, i was driving home from a friends at 2am, going through a road construction area, and a 3/4 ton quad cab chevy (construction company truck) with no lights on pulled out in front of me, i did all i could but still hit him with my left front pretty hard, reason i think its totaled is b/c the entire left front wheel/hub/control arms are completly ripped from the frame, it was dark and i was kinda stunned so i don't really know exactly HOW bad it is yet..... i will say this though, thats one safe *** car, the side airbags and side curtains probably saved me from losing my arm.....i walked away with a burn on my arm from the air bag, and an ear thats still ringing now from getting smacked by another airbag, no one else was injured (thank god) its still all pretty surreal, i keep waiting to wake up and it all being a dream.... i just had the windows tinted on it yesterday too......

I doubt it is totaled. Has to cost over 75% of the cost of labor and parts.. Take some pics

I don't think its 75%... here i believe its 50% of the cars BB value.

Man that sucks bad... and its all his fault too for not having on lights you couldnt see him. Bah! Habaneros are going down like flies... makes me glad i didnt get one, id proly be dead... ive NARROWLY avoided wrecks in mine already. (once some drunk guy ran a stop sign, had about 5 feet from the front of my car to him.... eek)

Damn that sucks, but one of the reasons I bought the car was for the side curtain airbags. Glad to hear they work and that your ok. I just ordered my habi red si about two weeks ago. I hope I don't wreck it.

Im just going through a whole ordeal with my 92 Civic Si that got totalled.
If the cost of fixing your car exceeds the value of the car (meaning actual BB value), then they total it out. At least in California thats how it is.
I had $4500 worth of damage inflicted on my 92 civic, and they totalled it out, because BB was a little over $3000
Bright side, I am getting an 06 LX coupe next weekend.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that wrecking your car has nothing to do with the color of the vehicle. It's usually caused by driving like an idiot [not in this case] so don't drive like an idiot and you'll most likely be fine.

Man that sux more than words can describe. Glad you're okay, glad the car did what it's supposed to do. I really hope the insurance agency doesn't try to screw you and I hope the moron in the truck gets his in the long run. I'm so tired of stupid drivers.

very sorry to hear about the accident. Although I never wish an accident on anyone, it is comforting for me to know that if poo hits the fan, the safety features of the FG will keep as safe as they can.

I also agree with you on wanting to drive a car that has been in a bad accident. I personally feel that once a car has had a moderate accident it will never be the same. What a shame for you, being none of this is your fault. Think of it this way, if you were buying a car, would you want one that had very low miles, but a $5-8k damage report?

All and all, be thankful you are ok, and remember it is just a car.

Here are the pics, talked to the dealership/insurance co today....... they estimated the cost to fix just what was visible to be 8000$...... that doesn't include whats wrong mechanically, or underneath, as it was a visual estimate.... so no word on wether or not its totaled yet...the body shop said they'll get the car in the air, start takin stuff off and see what they see and call the ins company back... sounds strange but whatever...... i kinda hope they total it... the pics make it look a lot less worse, as the entire wheel was under the car and still attaced to the suspension/subframe when i crashed, and has been shoved back under the car for transport i guess?
