when i bought my bike, i knew there was a hole in the tank, but i didnt think it was all the way through the casing, into the tank! its up higher on the top, i didnt realize it wa all the way through until i filled it up the other day. the hole has already been welded once(not very well) id say its about 1/4 in diameter. is this something(as ghetto as it sounds) i can fix with some jb weld, or should i drain the tank, let it dry and air out, and then have someone actually weld it up again?

 

Is a new tank out of the question? What bike is this on?

 

i had a small hole around an 1/8 inch that i jb welded. it seems to be holding fine. i say try the jbweld

 

actually its a lot smaller than i thought... the area i thought was the hole was just discoloration from the gas sitting on it. its actually a pin hole. while i was at work today i notice we sell gas tank repair kit which looks exactly like jb weld. so ima try that
