Default I apologize, but this is my last turbo thread...

I made this list of my "peiced together turbo kit" and my total cost is like $2100.

That seems like to much! Does anyone have links that they could substitute in for the ones I have and still be compatible with the rest of the stuff?

I am new to the turbo world and need some cheap alternatives I guess you could say...

<U>THE LIST:</U>

Manifold, Downpipe, and Wastegate Dump Tube: ($650)
http://store.straightlinespeci...985a3

Garrett 4-bolt T3/T4 Turbo (.48 A/R, 57 Trim): ($575)
http://www.rogueusa.com/Garret...7.htm

Tial 38 mm. Wastegate: ($215)
http://www.rogueusa.com/TiAL-3...8.htm

Intercooler, Piping Kit, and BOV: ($290)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...QrdZ1

Golden Eagle Vacuum Manifold w/ Fittings: ($46)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

Blox FMU: ($108)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

OBX Check Valve: ($51)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

Oil Feed and Drain Kit: ($160)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...20253

<U>Total: $2065</U>

Any other sites selling similar stuff cheaper that I could go to? Links are GREATLY appreciated. Before you ask, I do not want to go classifieds. No used stuff!

Thank you SOOO much in advance...

if you're running the fmu setup then you're gonna want a high flow inline fuel pump as well...and with that 12:1 fmu i wouldnt boost anymore then around ~6psi,,

also with that turbo you may need an oil restrictor ,,not sure though..you should email garrett to make sure..

im thinking about it thats a pretty high price for that..

i would do it alot differently and have it come out cheaper and better,,with better fuel management..

rebuilt t3/t4 by turbonetics and garrett go for around $350-$400..
meutek cast iron turbo manifold $200
blow off vavle off ebay $20-$30
oil feed and return lines $65-$75 off ebay..(look harder)
intercooler ebay of course ~$100
turboedit free
90 si pm6 free (already have one)
chipping kit $25
dsm 450cc injectors ~$50-60 everywhere
gsr fuel pump,,i know people sell these around $30 and they can handle around 300whp
intercooler pipes ~ $50 http://store.racing-solutions.org/inbukit1.html
(ill make my own dam downpipe need a flange and one bend..)
tuning..xenocron is by me in nj and tunes for about $100..
couplers and t-bolt clamps off ebay pretty cheap

wastegate is the only thing i wondering about,,havent decided on that yet,,i might make my own or try and find a used tial..

what am i missing?

Dont forget about the all important bearing cupler module. **** without that the turbo wouldn't even boost. I think that about sums it up.

That is high...
The bulk of your price is in the Turbo/Manifold/WG.
I actually just bought the Straight Line shorty kit, should be here next week, I'll let you know first hand how it is, but anyway...
If you are picking up the Garret and wastegate from Rogue, PM him first, he will knock some off the price if you buy them together. The problem with using the Straightline kit is that you must get a 4 bolt turbo, where as most of the less expensive ones and rebuilt ones are usually 5 bolt.

You could.
Get a less expensive turbo $250-350
Log manifold/make your own DP $300
BOV-ebay $30-50
FMIC- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem $106 (fits beter than the one you listed
OIL feed kit- http://store.summitracing.com/...w=sku $30
Oil drain-go to carquest get a 5/8 fitting w/ bung and 1' of 5/8 heater hose $12
($160 is crazy for an oil feed/return)

For Fuel
Either chip your PM6 and get DSM 390s or 450s ($60-$100)
or
FMU ($100) inline pump ($40 used)

Piping, buy a cheap ebay intake for the charge side. The smaller bends can be picked up at racing solutions, but I personally probably wouldn't buy from them again. I picked up 2 2" intercooler piping kits in the past, it took them 2 weeks before they even shipped (they didn't ship until I started wmailing them looking for the tracking #s), plus the u bends they use are to tight for my taste, they need to be wider. (I still have the kit sitting, I didn't even use most of it.
I now realized I'm just rambling and have strayed waaay off the initial topic

Manifold, downpipe, and wastegate tube $450

T3/T4 ( by the way are you running this on a d, just look into a t3 ) $400 fo a used one at the very most, I picked one up for $300

Intercooler can be found for $125

What is the oil restrictor all about?

The restrictor is about not ******* your seals quickly. 70psi at redline pushing into the journal bearing turbo will likely create issues with oil getting by the seals. Few hondas overspin their turbos (ppl like the big ones @lower boost), so you dont need a shitload of oil. I suggest taking the typical flare/npt fitting used on the top get brazed shut, then a 0.060" hole drilled for the oil passage through it.

I would HIGHLY recommend watercooling your restricted turbo, just to be on the safe side since the oil isn't doing as much cooling. I recommend it regardless too, since hondas tend to [& are designed to] run high oil temps anyways.
