i have koni yellow sports and H&R race springs installed on my car (only in the front till tomorrow morning) my tire is leaving NO gap between the fender and the wheel...do you think this is too low for the shocks to keep up?

They shouldn't blow, the konis can handle upwards up 550lb springs. You may be all over the bump stops though because those springs are pretty low. Be sure not to use the lower perch on the shocks, instead use the "stock" height settings...

 

My koni yellows are on the low spring perch, w/ ground controls. There is pretty much no choice but to ride low. I've had no problems so far

 

will driving on bad roads with these shocks increase the chance of blowing, or should it be ok if u drive slow. Im runnig tein stchs and thinkin bout gettin some konis

 

try this, if you can find somone to weld it for cheap. It will let the strut extend a lil more sor you get more use out of it. It shouldnt affect ride, but the strut wont be so compressed.

 

drive slow, and it should be fine!

Did you install the circlip in the center groove? Do you have at least 1 inch of bump rubber at each corner?

If so, it will be fine.

you know what? i doubt i have a bumpstop.... is it possible there is one hidden under a rubber sleeve?

 

lol....scratch that im a total suspension noob, yeah theres a bumpstop, its under this rubber sleeve and i got the setup pre-mounted from a HT user here

this is how low it sits:



a LITTLE higer then that....maybe 0.25" since im on a decline towards the driver's side

Looks like you'll ram your lip right into any type of speedbump.

 

It's tough to really judge anything from that picture due to the unlevel ground, the close, high perspective, and the wheel/tire combo.

Dude, take a picture of your entire car on level ground with some 15" wheels and 195/50 or 205/50 tires, at about door mirror height. Who knows, it might actually look normal that way

im still looking in my mailbox for you to mail me some rim/tire combo

i cant take full car pics because its been raining and i havent had the chance to do the rear yet so im still OEM lifted in the back....i can make it over SOME speedbumps, the taller ones my lip clears but my exhaust or something hits it on the way down...once i can get the rears on i'll take new pics but i'll still have the 13"s

 

hx's are 14's.....not 13s

Do the back then look at it. With the back at stock height it is probably putting a lot of "leverage" (not sure the best way to say it) on the front. If you put the back springs in it may even it out and you may get more gap to work with in the front.

 

that looks too low for race springs. are they konis with the perches perhaps?
