Default Plug Gap, high compression

I'm getting close to getting my Y8 mini me on the road. I was having trouble today with a rough idle and start due to intermittent spark. My friend suggested we lower the plug gap, saying they do that for FI motors, so we regapped all the plugs to 0.035. It started a lot easier, and idled very smoothly. I'm estimating about 12.6:1 static compression. I'm planning on getting some new plugs tomorrow morning, anybody have any suggestions as to what I should use for this motor? It's an A6/Y8 mini me with A1 (ZC) pistons.
