Upgrads for a Stock LS Automatic Tranny?
Ok guys I know that a 5spd is way better and I use to drive nothing but MT. But due to Medical Reasons in my hips, I can not work the clutch peddal. I am wanting to do some upgrades to my 95 LS. I know the stock tranny cant stand up to much more HP then what the engine already puts out. So is there any upgrades I can do to make it stronger? Is there another trany with maby a different gear ratio out there that will work? If not how much more HP can I put on the stock Tranny safely before I Blow the D@mn thing up? Any help would be Awsome! Thanx in advance guys!!

I would suggest getting (or having done) a modified torque converter for an automatic. Im not an automatic tranny guy, but know how you feel as with my fathers condition of no longer being able to drive a manual car after being in the hospital for a year. My car is manual..but I do have that suggestion for you. Years back I read a write up about it on an accord...it improved numbers in dyno and also increased the idle rpm for a quicker takeoff...no tranny blowing neutral drops needed LOL

Now If I deside to go with upgrading to a GSR Tranny Would it be a simple swap or is there modifications that will need to be made. And were would be a good place to shop around for The GSR Tranny.

ah .. well considering it's still an auto, it should bolt right up.

the auto sir-g is a cool trans, i've heard from 2 old classmates that had them, and they say its a considerable difference. and yes, it bolts right up.

i have read an article on g2ic.com...that if u buy a new torque converter...and it was one more thing...i cant remember at the time...you will have a strong tranny...they also make b16 auto trannys so think about that too...im sure an auto b16 tranny is easier to find then the auto GSR
my ls was auto and turbo, it was fast and if u change the fluid it will hold, i swaped it for a 5spd when it had 160k on it, and i was putting out 185whp and 150tq with the auto at 7psi, i dont think u need a better torque converter.
