Default ITR VS. BLOX REAR SWAY BARS

hey guys i was lookin into buying a rear swaybar for my 99 integra ls. i have koni yellows with neuspeed race springs, and want a little bit more.... i found this blox rear sway bar for real cheap http://shop.store.yahoo.com/tw....html

how does this compare to the itr 22mm rear sway bar?? ALso would i need a subframe reinforcement brace for the blox?? any other info/suggestions that would help me out would be greatly appreciated

thx guys

reinforcement? YES unless you want to risk ripping your subframe appart(do a search theres pics)

and the box VS itr i have the ITR its a nice bar i dont know about the blox but when i got my itr i was told most aftermarket bars are holow?? so they actually are less effective?? im not sure so if some1 else know please explain. You can get a type R one cheaper than that blox. i got mine for 100.. with polyurethan bushings and links..

but yes i would deffenitly reinforce that baby i have the ASR brace and i love it.. its great.. theres also the BEAKS kit but i have heard of pleaple still damaging their subframes even with those.. the ASR is MUCH better.. just my 2cents

i got mine from a co-worker. but i've seen them for about that price. passwordjdm has the 22mm for 80$ and the 23mm for 100$ just no bushings but you can get energy suspension ones from autozone for like 15$
i dont know if mines a 22 ore a 23 but i dont really care too much its just 1 mm..

the only thing about passwordjdm.com is that theyre out of stock so it might take a week or two to get them instock

and i got my asr brace from them for 180$ little pricey but i think its well worth it

I have BLOX rear sway bar on my LS, works great, it's much larger than the ITR, and it's not hollow.

Go to your local acura dealer and order an ITR sway bar for $65-70 dollars. Its pretty cheap.

How is it much larger? The ITR is 22mm, Blox is 21mm. And if I remember correctly the fact that it is hollow does not have that great of an affect on performance, as I remember the discussion on the road race or suspension forum.

Well, I guess I was wrong, not $70, but $84.48 at the most. acuraautomotiveparts.org has it for $71.81. Pretty good considering that theres no shipping cost if you pick it up at a dealership

Since my lap top is currently getting serviced, I can't remember how much my total was, but I ordered all new bushings, bolts, nuts, etc, and the bar, and the beaks kit and I know I got out for under $140

I'm using the beaks kit with my ITR bar, good peace of mind and insurance.
Was a pain in the *** to put on though.

well you can put on both the beaks and the asr because its just DONT work.. and like i said theres a thread about this and some people actually had damge to their subframes even with the beaks kit... the ASR is like 20X better and for ovious reasons much sturdier... look up a picture of the beaks and compare it to the ASR and then you'll know which is better.. and yes you NEED it!!! the bushings and bracket you can get at autozone for like 15 like i said beofre you can get the links from the dealership too shouldnt be too much for the pair...

pics of damage with the beaks:

so yeah if this happens with the beaks kit, then no kit is just asking for trouble...

wasnt mine just a pic i found when i was doing research for my sway bar... but if just worn shocks is enough to where the subframe rips then the beaks or whatever kit is not worth it...

DEFINITELY get a reinforcement kit. As you can see, the beaks kit is not a sure thing. I've seen the BSQ kit (good $20 alternative) do the same thing. I believe that was attributed to bad rear shocks though. toofast4u752 out of curiousity, how are your shocks in the rear?

A good, albeit pricey alternative is the comptech lower tie/subframe reinforcement bar. But you'll wish you had spent the extra dough ($200 for the bar) when you're paying for your subframe to be repaired!

the comptech peice looks good too.. except the only difference is that its half the size of the ASR one and the ASR is cheaper still. im pretty sure the comptech would work just as well though.. its just the name youd be paying for..

also from what i read soft spring will do it too. most people recommend stiffer springs to go with large sway bars or the result is pretty expensive. it actually happened to a friend of mine he ended up fixing it for about 300.. but that was just for a new subframe peice hich he welded himself... and i believe he actually added extra mettal plates inside the subframe before he welded the new one on..
