Does anyone know the volume of the airbox on the Comptech Icebox?
Can someone measure the inside length x width x heigth of the Comptech Icebox to get the volume?
I'm curious to see how the volume of airbox of the Icebox compares to the stock airbox.

Probably the same...what i was thinking of doing was doing a comptech air filter drop ( i have a GS-R) i gutted the bottom of my box and left one side to block the heat..but its pretty much the same just alittle more air flow but if u would like u can get the COMPTECH drop in filter! i don't know to much about it but i have looked into it alittle...
I'll measure it here in a little bit when I get a chance at work...
Gimmie like an hour or so...

Alright, thanks
Rough internal dimensions of the Ice Box.
6 Tall, by 6.75 Wide, by 8" long. The top has a semi dome shape, so I'd take a little out for the top sides. I'd guess about 308 cu in, or .178 cu ft... This does not take into account the bottom section where the tube comes in. That is also rounded. Hope this helps!

Thanks Bob for taking the time to get the measurement of the Icebox.
BSQ...you sound like you have something in mind when you said, "interesting"
Were you just curious or are the gears in your head thinking about another innovation?

I thought that it was interesting that the Icebox airbox has the same volume as the stock airbox. Because I thought that there were some statement made awhile back, which stated that the Icebox had a increased volume over stock. This also means that the DIY "Icebox" (aka. Icetake CAI - http://www.geocities.com/bretq/DIY_Icebox_CAI.html ) should perform nearly identical to the Comptech Icebox. I'm hoping to dyno both setups to verify this though...stay tuned.
The Comptech IceBox has a larger tapered inlet than the stock box, which should lead to better flow.
I don't know why there is this fasciniation with molesting the stock airbox - the Comptech piece is about $150 and makes a lot more power than a $1000 exhaust or header. It can resold for about $40 less than its new price if you ever sell the car. And I don't think a future prospective purchaser would be happy buying a car with a hacked airbox.

Not sure is this what you are looking for about the measurment on the inlet:

Yeah, why spend $150 if you can do it for $0!!!!

flexable ducting and a stock factory air box = more money for other stuff..

The tubing under the box is larger than stock and the box is slightly larger
The new import tuner has dynos of the Comptech Ice Box and Comptech short intake (without ice box)!
