new valves and spring....
can u put them in witht the head on the block.... ive been searching and everybody does it with the head off, so im takeing it u have to.... good info to know, thanks in adv

There's no way to install your new valves with the head still on the block because you need to slide them up through the bottom. Springs and retainers can be done with the head still on as long as you find a way to keep the pre-installed valves up. you can do that either by pressurizing the cylinder chamber.
you can leave the head bolted to the block for just springs but not valves for obivious reasons. You have to put the cylinder you are working on at tdc and use a air compressor with will the correct threads to screw in to your spark plug holes. Then turn on the compressor with the crank locked in place then the valves, if not bent, will hold in place from the compression in the combustion chamber. My buddy whos a mechanic at fairfax honda has done this numerous times.

....were did he get the treading for the spark plug holes??
