I got a 94 civic hatch and I just ordered front and rear integra suspension, I also have a brake booster and brake master cylinder from a dc2 integra. Since im changing the front and rear suspension, my question is will the brake master cylinder from the integra be fine to use or should I go with something else and which proportioning valve will bolt on and work the best?

 

u can get a prop valve from a 92-95 Si hatch, i never used any of that stuff when i didn my ITR conversion, and they worked just fine, but if u want u can change them out

 

The larger integra FRONT calipers require a larger master cylinder. The integra one is good, but it doesn't bolt directly onto your car. The integra MC must use the integra booster. You also have to bend/flare the brake hard lines that attach to the MC. The easiest soloution would be to sell the integra MC & BB & purchase a new 91 Civic EX 4-door master cylinder. It is the proper size (15/16") for integra front calipers, and it will bolt directly to your stock brake booster & hard lines.

The rear discs do require a new proportioning valve to be worked to their potential. Any rear disc NON ABS prop valve will work from the following cars:

- 88-95 rear disc Civic/crx
- any rear disc del sol
- 90-01 integra

The 94+ integra ones are the easiest to find, but make sure it's from a NON ABS one. If it is stamped with a 4040 on the valve body, you know your good...

Mounting the new prop valve can be tricky since each car has it's own bracket. Do not try to swap the brackes. It requires dissasembling the valve body, and Honda recomends never to do that. Just figure out how to mount the new one with one of the three studs sticking out of the fire wall. That will be plenty strong...

 

I sorta got the same questions. I just got everything installed recently for my rear conversion except the problems I'm running into right now has to do with bending and flaring the lines. Do you know if whether the 94-95 Integra RS nonABS MC bolts up without reflaring and bending lines on an EG civic coupe? If you haven't encountered this, you will. It sucks.

I'm trying to find out because I've ran into a problem with the MC I currently have for my conversion. I don't want to reflare or bend and would rather just bolt it in.

The 94-95 Integra RS nonABS MC will work with bending or reflaring lines, you just have to use any integra non ABS brake booster. Thats what I used when I did my conversion.

How much would it be for the 91 civic EX 15/16thMC and booster? Are you sure the 15/16th MC bolt up to the stock booster on the 92-95 civic? How different is that one from the Integra RS 15/16th MC? We tried to mount that one to my stock booster and it didn't work.

 

Like I said (or perhaps I forgot), the civic & integra master cylinders have mounting flanges that tip in the opposite directions (example: Civic / and integra \). If you only purchase the 91 Civic EX 4dr MC new from honda it will bolt directly to your stock booster & brake lines without any problem. You can even get it from fastbrakes for $120 if you want, and HondaAutomotiveParts.com also sells them for $145...

If you try to buy a remanufactured one from the parts store, you are almost garanteed to get the wrong part. I've had more than a handful of people e-mail about how the one they got from Autozone wasn't the right size, or the bracket didn't match their booster. Thats becasue the ***-hats at the parts store & reman company mix them up...

 

Thanks for the info. We bought the 15/16th MC for an RS integra and we had to bend the lines. As a result, we now need to get new lines. Sucks.

It seems we have found everything we need at a local junkyard.

BTW, does anyone know much about the non SI EG civics with disc brakes? What about parts off those cars?

 

We got an integra RS booster off a 90-93 integra RS at the junkyard. Everything bolted up well except we just found out that there's a vacuum leak coming from the booster which means I need it rebuilt.

Do you know if rebuilt boosters bolt up the same way without any problems?
