Can I safely make it there? I think it goes off at about 2 gallons left. I get ~30mpg so I think it's doable

Your fine... I always had around 4 gallons left in the tank when the light went on, good for 80 miles or so..

If you are in a sticky predicament on the side of the road then how the hell are you posting this right now?

at work. I was late so I bypassed the station the first time around. If you see a prelude stuck in OC at 4:30pm today stop by and say hi

you say that the closest CHEAP gas station is 10 miles away?
Is there a more expensive one closer? Why not go there and get a gallon or two, then make your way over to the cheap one and fill up.

This only works if there is indeed a more expensive station close to you obviously.

466.5 miles and going on 1 tank baby. there was too much traffic at the pump at the time I again I bypassed the gas station. I think I've got 14miles left. But I was driving like 60-65mph on the freeway. People weren't too happy with that. I think I'm going to try that Kramer thing except mine doesn't have a needle so I can't see it break off lol.

466.5 miles to a tank! that is crazy, I can't break 400 for anything.

Does anyone know exactly/about how much gas is left when the gas light comes on? Is 2 gallons a good approximation??

I ussually go down to about a 1/4 tank left and then fill up. by then I don't even have 300miles. I always fill up with 93 octane I used to go 94 til Sunoco got rid of it. Theoretically i should be able to break 400, but I don't think I will be able to.... i have a 99 SH. Maybe next time I'll try it.

yes it almost always goes on when I have 2 gallons left (assuming the prelude really is a 15.9 tank) I've gone and filled it up shortly after the light went on an filled 14 gallons
