its a marker/paint stamp, they wear/rub off with time. Have you looked through the diff to confirm its at least an LSD tranny?

Mine doesnt have the stamp. Its possible for them to wear off.

The trick is also that the JDM trannies have the 2 holes and they are NOT threaded (unless I'm mistaken). Where as USDM trannies will have the 2 holes if someone has removed the vin... and WILL be threaded.

neither of them are threaded. the usdm has rivets that keep it in place. not bolts. the jdm ones are just blank

Sure about that?

Think map sensor... when tightened at the factory the heads pop off the bolt/screw.

The usdm IS threaded. The rivets are bolted on the tranny. I believe they use special bolts that snap off once tightened.

Once again, JDM = not threaded, just empty holes. USDM = threaded. Unless someone tapped the JDM to accept threads then it should not have any threads in the holes.
