Post of them for all classes Pro and Sportsman!
Im wondering where are all the all motor cars at? There where a lot of cars out last year. Did k-series run folks off? I thought ALL MOTOR would be one of the most exciting classes in 2006.
Im also dissappointed with PRO RWD. where is everybody at? NO AEM, BULLISH, or ABEL....but isnt there other cars out there to make a full class?
Where are all those hot rod cars from 2-3 years ago that are sitting in all these shops that can run mid 8's and compete in the new nopi p4c class?
As a fan im a little dissappointed with some of the classes. Although the racing has been good and records continue to fall! I hope to see full classes as the season go along.

i'd have to agree to w/ some of the turn out in pro classes, seems we (as a sport) are taking steps backward instead of foward

At E-town for spring nats, street stock seemed to have very lil competitors. Dont know where all the competitors are at. But hey can you blame them when the car winining first place is beating everybody by .5 seconds? *zips up*
I agree the turnout was a little disappointing.
I know the AEM Civic is taking a year off. Steph is focusing on drifting this year.

I HATE drifting
I wanna see what the Skunk2 car is going to do this year....they said all they wanted to do this year was break records and not worrying about points.

Have to look at Sport Compact racing as a whole, it was pioneered by a new breed of racer, the young 20 something set, kind of like Drag racing in the 50’s. People who worked hard but did not traditionally have a ton of money to put into their cars. They made up the difference in innovation. As the sport has developed, and parts developed you still need knowledge, and innovation but having the money to buy a GT42, or switch to a K motor helps a lot. Now sponsorship has come into the equation that allows people to take innovation even farther. When people can change whole motor programs in the off season and thats just the sportsman classes, it puts being competitive out of the reach of the lil person. At some point the frustration, long hours and lil funds, overcomes the love of racing. Some people will then cry foul and have people slowed down, not understanding your not fighting their motor or design but their money, if their budget on the car is 20k and yours is 2k, you might as well ask them to tow a trailer, you have every dollar tied up in your car and don’t have the back ups when something breaks, nor the dollars or the sponsorship to help you acquire/fix the broken parts, your sunk and have to half *** it or miss some races which mean your not dialing in the car and not going faster. So you have people lagging behind and eventually just not showing up. Where this is made up in other forms of drag racing is people have day jobs that allow them to race and foot the high end bills, as a young group set this is simply not the case, even shops still have to watch their bottom lines and advertising versus expense of the car is just not finically smart, especially in this market segment that is lead more by price then loyalty and knowledge.

If I remember right, I read the Skunk team is sitting out this year. Forget if it was one or both cars. I am not sure where I heard this so it may be false???? Maybe someone else knows for sure.

They are going to chase down records at specific races, not going for a championship. They'll pop up sooner or later at some races - probably local ones to So Cal

I heard that they are helping a couple of teams with engine support. Using them for testing.

I don't see this sport dieing off. I think in due time the sport will rejuvenate itself, How? Like alot of people sitting out like myself im focusing on making a living and when i am financially stable i will for sure come back and not let $ stop me from chasing my dreams.. Got to remember that 70-90% of the guys who are not showing up are the ones between 25-30 its not because they don't want too its because they have other obligations that are more important than racing. If the guys out there now are doing what they got to do to be successful in what ever they do one day when feel like having some fun they will come back. Eventually when this sport grows so will everyone Bank account and i will guarantee this sport will pick itself up to NHRA powerade level....
i see as when the little guys come the sport will be big . i would love to see danny back out there racing , but i now he got his shop. but in do time the sport will grow big

. Should be interesting seeing the outcome of this.
