Default Steering shakes between 90-110 kph

Alright. I got some new rims late last week (18x7.5 Konig Tuner 2's w/ Hankook K104 225/35/18 tires) for my '94 Prelude SR-V, and ever since then my steering has been shaking when I'm going between 90kph and 110kph. Now, of course I figured this was a wheel balance issue, and since I received the wheels with the tires already mounted and balanced, I paid to have the rims balanced a 2nd time by a 3rd party shop. Turns out two wheels were off balance (Driver's front & Pass rear). I put the wheels back on the car and hit the highway. Same problem persists. I ask my friend who did the balancing if he could of done it wrong, where he assures me he balanced them perfectly. He recommended that the Hub-Centric Rings that were supplied with my rims could be wrong. So I pulled the wheels off the car (again) and checked the rings.. They fit perfectly to my hub and were snug on the rims. I put the wheels back on and tightened the lugs per spec (80 ft/lbs). Hit the highway again, problem STILL persists.

This problem never happened to me with my old rims (17x7 Enkei Evo 6). So I highly doubt it's my car. I checked to see if there was any play (up/down, left to right) on the mounted rim to check the CV joins, etc.. But there's no play what-so-ever. I've been given the advice to replace all the hub centric rings, as they could be slightly off (even though they don't seem to be from my visual inspection). But I have no other clue as to what could be doing this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Alignment is about the only thing I haven't done thus far. I didn't think it would create that kind of symptom, but maybe it does?

I'm going to be getting new Hub Centric Rings from the Company I got the wheels, just to eliminate it as a possibility. If the symptom still persists after getting the rings replaced, I'll go for an alignment.

Any defect in the tire/wheel would of been shown during the 2nd alignment... Or so I've been told. So I don't think the wheels/tires themselves are defective in that aspect.

yes if they were aligned on a machine with runout measurements it will tell if the rim is bent, also road force tests would show if a tire is bad. as long as you trust your friend then i would say wheels/tires are ok. i believe your issue lies in the alignment or suspension component getting ready to go, that was not noticeable with the smaller and i'm sure lighter wheels.

Turns out the company I purchased the wheels from sent me the wrong Hub Centric Rings. They're certain the news ones will solve my issues. I'll keep you all posted

Thanks for the feedback/help guys!!

The hub centric rings weren't the problem

Seems my car is to blame.. Which is one hell of a coincidence if you ask me.

So it could be one of 3 things.. CV joint, Wheel Bearing or Tie rod. I'm bringing my car to a Honda Specialist later this week, as I don't have the time to check the car myself.

Hopefully this won't cost me a ton. I wouldn't want my engine/turbo project to be delayed cuz of this crap
