Default HID question

I was searching and couldnt really find an answer to this:

I have a 2000 Accord EX coupe.

I have a 9006 Prolumen 6000K kit (thinking about returning it for a 4300K) and i know that it will have massive glare in stock housing. Will it still have bad glare if i painted the entire housing flat black?

TIA!

Seeing that it is a REFLECTOR that you are wanting to paint....no it will not work. The reflector reflects the light to the road. If you paint it they will not work properly, and you will get no light to the road It will not matter if you have hid's or not. Why don't you get one of those glare guards that a lot of people use. Or better yet just do a retrofit.

My beam pattern was not as bad as you could expect with an HID kit on my 6th gen, but I sold it after while because I don't trust it. Worry about frying the harness, worry about blinding other drivers, etc. You could try painting the housings black or buying D2R instead of D2S bulbs, or eyebrows or something, but it will lessen the problem, not fix it. At the bare minimum, a TYC projector with the kit will work better, but an HID retro is best.
