NHRA Info correction re: Clutchmaster's Integra
It has been brought to my attention that the web-coverage of the Nitto Nationals this past weekend has a small error in their All-Motor class results.
The results of a second round pairing of Norris Prayoonto and Saul Salceda was reported as...
"Salceda broke a tranny right on the line, he moved less than a foot. Lookofsky will have lane choice against Prayoonoto in the final round."
and should have made no mention of the transmission breaking, as it was not the reason the car didn't complete the pass. The transmission in the car is healthy and begging to be shifted harder next event.
This was only brought up because Quaife has had a few interested parties call to find out what broke. So far, the transmissions in both Clutchmaster car's have proved faster and more durable than their factory counterparts. As the season progresses a few more teams will be running the Quaife K-series gearkit to improve reliability and lower the E.T.
Thanks for the bandwidth,
Brian

for those of us not in the know what tranny and quaife gearset are they running. Is it a stock transmission or an aftermarket unit made by quaife.

Correct. Quaife gearset with a stock tranny casing

People on the racing side of things understood what was meant when they said the the trans broke....
Saul just had to bow down to Norris this time around...but the broken trans skit looks better for politics...
Its all good though....

I was told there was a broken part, but not part of the transmission. Apperently they have had this same part brake 3 times so far this season. Twice on Norris' car, and now once on Saul's ride. I think they need a travel stop somewhere besides on the part that broke, to help get rid of the problem.

While that may have been the case last year, I don't think they are doing that this year. Saul is racing when they line up.

But Saul has been wearing Norris out all year and thought it best to allow Norris to go to the dance. It was pretty obvious what was going on BUT Saul was having some axle issues I was told.
