ok, so I am picking up my h22 in a couple of weeks, and I am also picking up a p28. the question is, do I wire vtec to the same pins to for the p28 as I do for the p13?

onl;y difference I see is the knock sesonor, does the obd1 h22 not have a knock sensor?

have to get one car running before I can work on the other. give it time, Im having DonF fix the head for me towards the end of the summer. I am shooting for summertime next year. may not be something nice to look at, but u wont have to look at it for long.

 

That wiring diagram is for a civic or teg.

 

but its still for a p28 right? i figured so long as its a p28, it didnt matter. but I just found out that only the f series didnt have a knock sensor in the preludes, so now im gonna have to wire that **** up, if anyone has an extra knock sensor plug laying around for an h22, let me know

 

here's where i would start, to my knowledge all the harnesses are pretty close to the same, i think the only think the ludes has on top of the civic engine harness is the egr stuff. so the p13 harness should plug right into the p28, i would look and see if the ludes are prewired for vtec, as the civcs are, the knock sesor is a one wire deal, the person that chips your ecu can delete knock on the program, so you wont have to bother with hooking it up.

 

You can use a knock sensor off of a different motor, I believe. It goes underneath the IM on the block, just run a wire for it.

 

if you do wire it make sure you use shielded wire.

i dont have a p13 harness. from what I know, there were no pre-wired vtec prelude models. could be wrong though. but from what I have heard, if the knock sensor isnt hooked up, it could mess with the timing

 

It will pull timing if it detects knock. but it takes awhile for the car to realize there is no knock sensor hooked up. So the code devleops after awhile. If i were you id just delete it out of the program with uberdata.

yeah, probably the easiest way. what is the knock for anyways? i will just have Ben(shifty35) delete the knock program out of the system

 

hondas knock sensor blows ***, it pulls timing before its to late anyways. usually its toast by then.

but what is the point of the sensor?

 

incase some one uses shitty gas, shitty gas is the only thing that will make it knock hard enough.

ha! then whats the point?

 

If everything you have is OBD1 it is the same. If you have an OBD2 motor/harness and an OBD1 ECU you will need a jumper harness.
