Default any good DIYs for a fuel cutoff switch

looking for any good DIYs for a fuel cutoff switch. ive searched here and didnt really see any. anyone know sites, or good at some explaining?
i was thihnking of running a switch to the power wire to the pump, then i heard to use a relay for it, then i heard to put a switch on the ground wire not power

no, the car will run for like 2sec before the fuel runs out in the lines.
