Default 3 stage vtec head on y8 block

I am this---> <--- close to securing a deal on a 97 d15b 3 stage vtec head and 5 speed p2j ecu for my Gas sipping daily driver project. I just wanted to make sure that it is a direct bolt on to USDM d16y8's before I decide to get it.

yes it is a direct bolt-on but is there any difference beside the economical benefits that the d25b head provides? i think you should just buy a regular z6 or y8 head. But if its the same price then go for it. My friend had one and wired the 2 vtec solenoids to one wire and it popped like a dohc vtec with a crane stg2 cam

I am getting this for the sole reason of getting excelent fuel economy. and I guess deep down also because it would be rare. but gas prices are no joke these days and I could use 55+mpg driving like a bitch.

D15Z1 would be better, if FE is your own purpose. But yeah, it'll work. Check the link in my sig for m@d jdm fuel economy.

yes its the same head casting as the y8/y5. you will have to add an egr and some wiring to make use of the lean burn mode, and the obd2 3stage ecu is VERY rare, and pointless to do the swap w/out the correct ecu.
