Default Cruise Control???

I was driving and noticed that I had a cruise control feature on my car, so I press down cruise, then hold down the SET button, and nothing happens, no light up on the cluster or nothing. Is there a way to disable/enable to cruise control feature somewhere within the motor? Also wanted to know what these obd codes mean, like obd1, obd2, obdii, what does that mean?

There is a round button to the left of the steering wheel below the cluster. When you hit it and its on there should be a green light that turns on. Then when your crusing ( third fourth or fifth gear) you hit the set button on your steering wheel and it whould turn on.

I know how to set a cruise control, it's just that it doesn't work, i'll try to make a video of it tomorrow if i can remember and post it on here and show you that it doesn't work.

Read your Owners Manual.
There should be a section on there just for the Cruise control feature.

Also,
OBD1 - On board Diagnostics 1 91-95
OBD2 - On board Diagnostics 2 96+

Its just a way the computer in the car reads different monitors in your car.
They give signals back and forth, telling each other their condition.
Mostly emissions related.
Like for example, if you have a bad 02 sensor, you are going to get a CHECK ENGINE LIGHT.
OBD-1 is better than OBD-0, but the new one OBD-2 is better than those other 2.

Alright, I got the OB deals, so yeah I'm guessing the previous owner must've taken out the cruise control then.

Okay look under your hood and see if the cruise "box" is still there. I will take pics and post in a minute.

Okay here is a pic, the black box in the center of the pic is the cruise control. Check that. Make sure it is still there and hooked up. If it is then the fuse might be blown or even a fucked up wire somewhere. Good luck. Oh and it was raining so you owe me your first born.

Sorry to bump my old thread, but I just recently came from a meet, and wanted cruise for the drive. I hit the button, the light comes on on the button but not on the dash.. Shouldn't it come on the dash too when you press it or is that after you set it?

Make sure your foot isn't resting on the clutch pedal.

I'm getting about tired of the smartasses on this forum board... Anyway.. I've taken out the servo and the control unit, still nothing.... Checked fuses, foots not on the clutch, even tried pulling up on the pedal, by foot and hand underneath it... Still nothing...
