Default Powering up car deck

Is there anyway I can power up (turn on) my deck without installing it into the car. I would like to see how it looks when on.

Please advise, thanks.

Ground the black wire from your head unit to your negative battery terminal. Combine the red and yellow from the head unit and put it to the positive battery terminal. It will not damage the head unit. Then press the power button on the head unit.Just BE CAREFUL!!!!! and dont cross the wires or let them touch each other.

Thanks for the quick response.

So i should NOT let the red and yellow wires touch when putting them on the positive terminal, correct?

Thanks again.

Well they won't be, since the red/yellow wires will be on the positive terminal and the black wire on the negative......but i will be careful.

Appreciate the help.
