Default So Who Has a B18c5 EG/EH?

I'm thinking of buying a c5 swap. Where are some good places to order from? Hmotors seems to be the most reliable and safe. Do you guys like this swap? Was it worth the money, or should i buy a b18c1? I'm staying NA for now, NO TURBO, possibly supercharge it. Just Intake/Header/Exhaust.

My car is a 93 dx with Apexi WS II exhaust, Koni/GC/SRR lca's/Sk2 lower tie/ITR front sway, SI brakes.

Also, my car has a d16z6 swap already, so does this mean i just plug in the c5 engine harness and am good to go?
I have all the tools to do the swap, so thats not an issue.
Thanks.

B16's are weaksauce. I had one in my eg before and it was cool for a day. I want something to beat Z28's and GT's (as lame as that sounds i just want to be able to hang with them) and i figure best would be a type r swap.

What ever sarcasm you attempted to throw at me missed drastically on account of your spelling. spell check &gt; you.
Why are you being a dick in the first place? It makes no sense lol.

If your willing to spend the money on a C5, then a K20 would be your best bet... especially NA.

Oh and why do you have an ITR front sway bar? Thats 24mm right? With no rear bar? I'm suprised you haven't crashed yet.

ROFLMFAO!
I have a k24a2. I'm selling it because i need more money to finish, but i will not get it anytime soon. I'm sick of the d16z6, and there is no way i can make 4500 over the summer.
You guys don't realize how much a kswap actually is.
A type r swap is 4grand with me dropping it in.
A k swap is going to cost me 8100 give or take a few bucks. I've made a complete list of what i needed, and i have been saving/ buying parts since october of last year. It kills me to have to sell it.

How do you figure it isn't cheap when i sell all my ****, i'll have 4 grand? I dont see the argument here? Type R for 4 which is how much i'll get back after i sell my parts, or 4500 to complete a k swap...

I know its expensive, but the fact that you want to buy a ITR motor and throw it in isn't cheap either.

well seing that there is a search function, a faq, and plenty of threads relating to this.
As for wanting to beat those cars it depends on driver. i was walking those with a SOHC Vtec. Just go boost. its cheaper, easier and funner. as for spelling get over the ****.

How is it not cheap? 4000 installed by myself = all the parts i have + k24a2. (wheres the confusion) That means i don't have to put anymore money than i already have.

I'm glad you know there's a search function. I've used it. I haven't found any feedback from people who own C5 eg's. If i wanted a turbo...well i dont want one. **** d series. I'm not building anything.
Damn people stay on ******* topic.

Ok Lets try this again then:

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Rott_King &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I'm thinking of buying a c5 swap. If you want to stay N/A, the B18C5 is the best factory choice for an easy, factory, bolt-in swap. Go with that if you can afford it.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Rott_King &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">My car is a 93 dx with Apexi WS II exhaust, Koni/GC/SRR lca's/Sk2 lower tie/ITR front sway, SI brakes.

You can use your Z6 engine harness. You will have to extend a few wires, like the oxygen sensor, and move some **** around, but it works fine. Obviously you can't use the OBDII ECU, so you will have to get a chipped P28. You might have a plug on the engine by the crank pully that you will not use. You will also have to get an OBD1 distributor, maybe in injectors too but I can't remember.

I got a b18c r in my hatch and I love it. IF you plan on putting a supercharger in get a b18c1. if you stay NA and have the money get a b18c5. the guys that are saying go k20 for a bit more cash dont know what they are talking about. It is not a easy swap and you will have to brake your piggy bank open to pay for it.

I know how mucha a k swap costs. I HAVE A K24a2 and mounts and ecu, and clutch line, and a RBC intake manifold. The total to drop a k into my hatch is going to cost 8150 and some change.
Okay i think if i get a decent offer, i'll drop in a c5. Going B would also make keeping AC/PS a shitload easier.
Anyone have an teg subframe, i need one for my ITR rack.

my friend just bought a jdm 98 spec type r from h motors for his del sol and its alright if your going to stay na and just want something mild. for example his brother has a stock h22 coupe and its a little faster. but i dont recommend that either. personally i had a h22 in my eg hatch and i swapped in a 00 US spec gsr and spent an extra 400 on an lsd and also i bought some skunk2 stage 2 cams which i hadnt put on yet (gotta get springs, retainers, and cam gears) im pretty positive it will out run the type r and the h22 for less money and just as reliable. also he is pretty upset because there is really not much he can do to the motor to make more power just because he doesnt(like most people) want to tear into the botom end or even the top end of the (legendary) type r motor. he actually regrets buying because he doesnt even want to spray it, he wishes he would have got a gsr and spent the extra 2grand on parts

just go gsr, start in the middle and you're just as good and not as heavy/pricey.

BOTH STOCK the h22 will always be faster in the same weight car due to the extra torque.

The point of this thread was b18c5 hatches, not k20 so please keep your posts for another thread.
You no nothing about k series motors so i'm going to put you in your place.
There is no point in swapping a k20a2/k20a head onto a tsx block. The TSX head has the same IVTEC systems as the JDM k20a and USDM k20a1/z1/z3. Yes a head swap will make power, but not worth the money IMO. I would wrather have the TSX head P&P or just add IPS k2 cams with eibach springs and retainers. TSX motors stock with tune make numbers far surpassing that of any b or even the H for that matter. I think i'm going to keep the k24a2, and just get a type s trans with no lsd for now. And simply get k100 over kpro.
