Default misfire with odb1 d15b engine. Please help, pulling CEL

okay so my friend did a engine swap on his car its a 91 civic and put a d15b engine it it. he got a huge package from rywire with the conversion. I'm not sure exactly what it is, but from what he told me it should be just plug in and play. but right now it doesn't want to rev past 1500. even when the timing is all the way to either advance or retarted it still doesn't want to rev. he brought an odb1 distro too....

how do you pull codes on odb1 ecu because the service connector under the passenger side doesn't work. but we get a check engine light anyways.

please I need help getting this fixed....

the service connector still works, it doesnt matter if its obd-0 or obd-1. Try and putting a paper clip, if it doesnt work, then put something on the wires that isnt brown and then ground it to something. it should throw the code on the dash.
