I am going to have my car tuned soon and I was told I needed a higher octane then what i have. I am running an LS/VTEC (b18b/b18c) with the compresson about 11.5 to 1. I don't really want to get above a 100 octane form the pump. Is there anything I could do to boost the octane. I heard I could do it with a methanol kit.

11.5 is fine for premium, hell, my LSVTEC eats 93 pump @ 12.4ish:1 lol

 

you should be fine with pump gas and a little octane booster bottle from chevron or any gas station.. 11.5 is safely streetable on pump gas.

 

people are running 12.5 compression on the street but with 94 octane pump gas

 

I am in california, and premium is only 91 octane

pump gas is good to about 12.5 and after 12.5 u wont need more than 100

edit didnt read 91 octane is ur premium. so um yea thats not good but its not bad. i honestly would never run less than 94 i get 93 and mix in 100 so make it a lil better.
