i know this sound a little wierd but what would you guys think of a mustang 5 liter engine in the S. would the body be able to handle it? you think it would twist?. would the diff handle it. fitting that engine between the frame rails?

 

I think if you want a Mustang...go buy a mustang. If you want an S2000, but an S2000.

As anti-Ford as I am...a 2006 Shelby Cobra pumpin' out 450 ponies ain't all that bad. I wouldn't buy one, but it's not that bad.

I thought its only 450 on paper but pushing more in the 600 range. Or is that some other mustang model?

 

not sure actually...the 2007 is "officially" rated at 500HP.

I forget if it was C&D or R&T that said its rated at 500bhp but is really in the 600's. I'll try finding the article. Shelby just wanted to keep the GT500 name, its history and all that.

 

why people swap the motor out of this car is beyond me? ever heard of balance?

if you would take the time to look at past topics i have posted this question about hondas 3 liter v8 pumping 600 hp, which be a betteridea then a damn mustang engine. if ur really looking to do a swap get a crate engine not the stang, its too big and dumb.
and this current edition of one of those mags has the gt 500 up against the new camaro and the camaro beat it out in every category, probably becausethey had the advantage to look at the numbers and bump them to have the better stats.

i think the 600hp gt was just the show car at the autoshow,no big deal u can put a blower setup on any v8 for that kinda power.

when the mustang came out u had to be on the waiting list neway, how long do u think ur gonna have to wait once the gt500 comes out and all the babyboomers jump for it.
