My friend swaped a d16y8 in to a 4dr dx, and he is using a p28(d16z6) ecu? i think thats right. well he is getting a jump in the idle. it bounces up to 2k over and over. he has a cel but it reads vtec solenoid. He didnt use a OBD2 to OBD1 jumper harness, he just rewired the few plugs that needed it and he says he wired in vtec from his ecu to the harness and pinned it in its right location. he had many refrences to where it goes, but he still gets cel. there is no vtec engagment and his car has an anyoing idle bouncing up to 2k every second. does he need the jumper or does he just have to rewire the distributer and the few other things and why isnt vtec engaing. i know its hard not looking at it, but spring some ideas. thx
