Are you putting on an aftermarket intake? Are you trying to remove the Whole airbox, or just the filter? For the Filter...Just pop the clipse around the perimiter of the airbox.take off the top...and there it is.

Are you just putting in a drop-in K&N filter? The stock paper filter should just slide right out.

I remember the s2ki guys sayin the intake and exhaust tracts were changed slightly. Makes sense, since the DBW takes up and extra chunk of space on the intake manifold. I don't know why they would change the filter mount... I'd need an 06 here to pop it's hood.

there's a thin metal spring that wraps around the tip of the arm and hooks together to hold the cone filter in place. remove that and then the filter should slide right out.

i just put a k&n intake kit in yesturday. the filter slides off the intake tube, and the other end has a plastic peg that pushes into the bottom of thefilter box. there should be a whiteplastic loop attached to the end of the filter all u do is pull it straight up. it will just pop out. my s is a 2005...

Actually the car doesn't have one. I popped the hood of a friend's 06, it seems to have an IAT sensor right on the intake elbow, so intakes for 06+ should come with a bung for it.

And the bulky DBW throttle body.
