Default carbon deposit

this is a rebuilt head a6 with 70-80k on it. Am I wrong to assume that leaking valve guides caused this? what can i use to get this out? the exhaust valves are just as bad.

That looks like very leaky valve seals at least.

Ive never seen 70k mile old valveseals leak THAT bad before...

Could also be valve guides as well. How did the car run and idle? If it was ok, im guessing just seals
You can have it sandblasted or cleaned at a machine shop to clean all the crap off.

idle, you could feel #3 miss, any way to get it off other than a machine shop?
