Default removing ac

i kno this has prolly been convered but i can't search for removing ac b/c ac is to short and if i type it all out it gives me something else.

my question is when i swapped in hte gsr into my hatch the ac was still connected to the motor i dont want it anymore how would i go about removing it ..its adding weight to the car that i dont need being that its not plugged in at all so i might as well remove it. is it difficult to do it?

Removing ac is not difficult, simply unbolt the bolts holding on the ac pump and comdenser. Un hook the ac pipes and allow the freon to leak out of the comdenser.
then remove the condeser and pipes.( which bolt to the pump) then u should be able to slide the condenser up and out, and the pump has 4 bolts holding it on just unbolt them and it will come right off.

This isn't really the way you should do it. Freon into the atmosphere isn't good according to evironmental peeps. You should get it evacuated by a shop.

he said its not hooked up anyways, so there isnt any freon in the system, he simply wants the components off the car, which means unbolting them.

Remove 4 bolts holding the AC compressor, take off the belt (store it for later possible use or make your dog a new collar), and ta-da. It's going to be one hot *** summer. Haha. No worries though, mine's been removed too. Sacrifices must be made. And fyi, along with the few pounds you lost, you gained a pony or two. Less rotational mass frees up power. Good luck and happy wrenching.

you wont see even 1hp by taking the belt off. if the clutch isnt engaged its like turning an idler pulley, which takes barely anything, surely not 1hp. and to take the belt off w/out cutting it you have to also take the alt and p/s belts off, and he doesnt know how to take the belt off in the first place i doubt he's willign to take them off just to keep a $8 belt.
