ANYONE HAVE A CIVIC SI WITH A AEM FUEL RAIL????????
i bought an SI with a aem fuel rail and it looks like theres a sensor plug next to the fuel pressure regualtor (right side). i tried looking for a plug that goes in there but i can't find it any where. I think this might be causing my CEL but im not sure what this plug does. Can anyone help???????

i can't cuz the car is not registered but im pretty sure its causing the cel , other than that , it would be my O2 sensor mayb cuz the car is running rich during idle.

you can check the codes yourself by using a paper-clip and plugging into the jumper harness on your ecu.

Dude....like we just said, check your CEL code to make sure its not another problem....your car being registered has nothing to do with you being able to check your engine trouble code. Yes you still need to figure out what that that plug is there for but do yourself a favor and check that code. If you don't know how ask me or anyone else. Ill be glad to explain it to you.

ok no you guys are dumb i can see that he might possibly have em1 00 SI WHICH is OBD2 AND CAN'T CHECK THAT WITH PAPER CLIP So since it's not registered he can't drive it to get the code checked some of you guys need to stop and think before you start bashing people!

You certainly can. I've done it numerous times.

lmao my god some of the replies on here baffle me...Okay, whatever works for you, in your world if you cant check the CEL on your own because its an OBD2 ecu, then that sucks. Im glad I dont live in that world. Just because you cant use a paperclip doesnt mean you cant go to sears and pick up an obd2 trouble code reader...hahaha...

No in all seriousness though, just keep seraching through some forums, find someone who seems pretty knowledgable (none of us in the forum so far) and see if they can help you out with it. Pleaseeeee trust me though, you CAN check that CEL code without having the car registered. There are plenty of ways you can do it.
Yea, someone gave me a link to a forum of how to check the cel with a paper clip and the list of codes but this forum was for an accord and i have a 00 civic si. i dunno if the obd port is different or not cuz i don't have a picture of an accord obd port. And if u guys DID notice, I wasn't asking how to check my cel, I just wanted to know if any of u guys knew what the electronic plug is next to the fuel pressure regulator on an AEM fuel rail, LOOK AT THE TOPIC!
im not getting pissed, im just saying what i wanted to know about the aem fuel rail, ppl were getting way off topic with checking the cel code which wasn't about the topic at all, i just said in the first post that the fuel rail sensor plug<U></U> might be causing my cel and it just lead to checking codes from everyone
Yes it did get off topic I apologize about that. Let some of these posts show you that you can't listen to what a lot of people say on here though or they will steer you wrong. Take everything in with a grain of salt and ask from a bunch of different sources. Ill try and find out about this fuel rail thing for yah even though you'll probably find an answer before me. REGARDLESS, you NEED to know what is causing your ecu to throw that CEL.

Its the green plug above your ECU. You might have to remove it from the palstic/rubber holder. And it does with on my 2000 Civic Si. Ive checked my CEL's many times...

If its a double pin connector then its for the evap purge control solenoid. cuz on the 96-00 EX, Si, and other side mount IM engines have the evap purge control solenoid mounted right to the fuel rail. So who ever replaced the fuel rail removed the solenoid and didn't hook it back up. Its diffinatly causing your cel. Buy one and hook it up! Or maybe the guy left the vacuum hoses on it and tucked somewhere.
