Default question about brake pads....

I'm going to be doing my first break pad change this weekend, and I was wondering if anyone had any advice about what types are good for hondas, or should I just pick up your average set at Auto Zone when I stop in.

Definitely oem pads even though their a little more expensive their worth it in the long run, saves u from doing it twice.

On the other hand if you end up needing rotors aftermarket is fine.

Thanks, I'll probably call up the honda dealer today and see what it runs. But I'm paying for my college classes this summer (out of my own pocket) so the $$ is a little tight, so if they are gonna charge me an arm and a leg I will probably just have to go get a set of ceramic pads or something. I think the rotors are still good, I don't get any vibrations or anything when I break the car.

The last pads I put on my 95 EX were the carbon-metallic pads at AutoZone that carried a Lifetime Warranty, I don't remember the brand. They worked great, didn't wear fast, didn't appear to be harsh on the rotors, didn't dust much, were like 60 for the front and 40 for the rear or something like that. They did a good job and I wouldn't have to pay for the pads again.

werd, autozone's lifetime warranty is more laxxed than advance auto parts or pepboys...

i've replaced worn pads w/ lifetime warranty many times over & didn't have to pay for them @ all anymore (various domestic and foreign car maintainer here...)

pepboys used to have that same no-hassle warranty until 2000, then it was just warranteed against manufacturer defects & not from general wear-n-tear...
