Default Please...more HELP!!! What's a BETTER DEAL!!!

What would be a better buy? 99' blue honda SI with all the options minus the spoiler, has headers, intake, exhaust, fog lights w/69k miles and a clean title for $8500 OR for what my knowledge 98 silver honda ex 2dr, 5 speed with power everything, Canadian SIR gauge cluster, Type R shift boot with w/ spoon shift ****, pioneer deck, blk leather wrapped SI seats w/ matching leather wrapped door panels and middle arm rest console, SI spoiler, SI tail lights, Integra LS mesh rims wraped in falken rubber, lowering springs, SI front-end conversion, with HID Kit, SI steering wheel. IT has a B16B motor and tranny with short ram intake custom headers and catback exhaust (brand ?), clean title, and short shifter. The car itself has 67k miles for $8500

I'm just looking for advice on which is the better buy or which one would I would profit from any help is appreciated,Thanx!

i would go for the SI because it would have a higher re-sell value...plus its stock b16 not swapped..plus...isn't the canadian sir cluster just the regular ex cluster??

Nope, it's like the Si cluster but says SiR on it.

Personally, I would never buy a modified car. Ever.

I would go with teh Si, mostly because that nice *** engine is stock, not a swap,b ut also b/c the **** is modified out of htat 98....it soundsl ike it's just waiting for a theif to pick it off....

I'm going to assume hte 99 Si is manual? You didn't state..

I appreciate all the help so far but I had my GF enter this for me over the phone and she made some minor mistakes which I fixed......BIG ***EDIT***...The motor is not a B16 motor....IT IS A B16B motor/tranny which is the Civic Type R motor and I get the car with a clean title for $8500 from a dealership. Now....what should I go with. I was thinking the 99' SI but now I am more focused on the 98' EX

So please repost some new thoughts!

Why do you say the SI? Is it because you own one? Ever driven a B16B?

Syndacate: I'm not trying to be mean or anything, but DON'T COMMENT IF YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE THREAD!!! All SIs were manual transmission, from the begiining of time. The only thing that you said that made any since was to go with the SI. Because a EX is decked out IN CRAPPY and CHEAP mods, doesn't mean it was stolen. A dealership offered it, they gave a bag value for it and need to get rid of it. The only reason I would not go with the EX was because of the swap. Some ppl don't know how to swap and plus you don't know where or what that motor has been through to get into that car. SI re-sale are better 2, and I OWN a EX civic. Hope you make the right choice.

Yeah, but when the ex gets stolen, he'll get blue book for the car, and no compensation for the mods. If the si is nearly stock, it won't hurt so bad when it gets stolen...

yes i have only reason im saying its a better deal is because later on if he wants to sell it he could get his money's worth.

On a serious note. Get the car you feel most comfortable with. Whether it be an si or an ex.

depending on whether all the stuff on the 98 is legit w/ papers and reciepts.. if it is, then thats a pretty good deal considering the motors are like 4,000+ already lol.. even though they are not worth it (imo) people just want that type R jdm y0. EM1's are a very nice car to start out w/ modding, and like someone said before, "he wouldnt buy a modded car" i agree, the more stuff someone else did, the more stuff that could be ghetto-rigged, or done poorly.

Dickless, how can u seriously read what I wrote and write that response? "I DON'T KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT" -- Ur right, I didn't know Si's only came in a standard, but since a honda auto tranny ******* sucks, I said "this is all under the assumption it's a manual tranny" - so what the expletive is the difference? - And yes, if u rice ur car out, it is a lot more appealing to theives, think about it, which is a thief more likely to steal, the black custom painted Si with the white rims, CF hood, body kit, custom interior, aftermarket guages, cluster, paint, etc. or a teal hatch w/ some dents all around that some guy has as a commuter car and it "just gets him from point a to point b"

That B16B sounds kinda tempting, especially since that motor sells for almost 4 Gs. Depends on what you want. Do you mind that the EX has been built up by someone else other then yourself? SI would sell for more cash, but that CTR motor is a rare find. Good luck.

neither buy a 92-95 cx 5speed 1000-2000 tops. then buy a 00-01 type r swap 4000-5000. get a gsr brake upgrade front and rear (300-500)and still have money to spend stock car probably running high 13's with more to go

Syndacate, I told you I wasn't trying to be mean, we're all on the same team. Just there are plenty of ppl that can comment and you don't have to if you have no concept of SIs, which you prolly don't much of civics then cuz I learned about the SI 1st then civics and swaps. Who cares what a theif is looking at, that what alarms are for and hell my old 01 4 door civic EX with NO mods, no tint , and auto tranny and stock CD player got broken into. Threw the dam sunroof and checked under the hood to see for mods, and left empty handed. My 93 civic with 10% tint, 2 10" subs that I ALWAYS have on, iPod left inside into the JVC deck, and SI leather interior, and NO alarm. Ppl that see sh*t like that, I'm assuming they think u have a BAD AZZ alarm before you do the mods, leave your **** alone. ---SI, your an idiot if you pick the EX, everyone has an EX and swaps, but an SI is better all the way around.

Which one will cost you more to insure?

I would not buy that EX, but I would keep looking for another.

Si are nice, but hardcore bendover to insure

I don't know much about Sis, I mainly only know about their engines what they are good to drop in, 'tis why I didn't know they only came in manual, thank you for "correcting" me though
