Turbomanifold Studs, threaded rod...Will they work?
I recently bought a castiron turbo manifold inwhich will be installed shortly but was wondering If i were to purchase some threaded rod, from ACE hardware.
Would this be able to withstand the constant temp change in the long run?
and what type of thread lock could be used and still withstand the incredible amounts of heat?
please help me out for I should be geting all the parts together 2marro.

no, the copper RTV cant take that heat, thats what makes it work so well. it turnspowdery and chunky when it exceeds its max temp, which actually locks the bolt/stud/nut in place. use the copper RTV as locktite, it will work great

i use hi-temp loctite on all my other bolts...tranny, mounts etc...because solid mounts rattle the **** out of my whip and they all back out slowly over time...
i use the copper rtv on any hi-temp app where they are going to back off....like std has said...it does change color a lil bit but the remaining crap left there does a dam good job of holding the bolt tight...and taking them off isnt all that bad...it just requires a lil bit of wd40.....dont go crazy either...a dab of rtv will do it only has to fill the tiny gaps between the threads

Im guna pick myself up a tube of this copper RTV.
and for the studs I was able to get some @ ace, thick automotive studs. 3.30$ each but they are worth the cost these ******* arnt gunna break

ya i rememeber them being slighty overpriced...but hell i deemed it a minor cost thinkin about everything else i has bought...and take my advice...do it right the 1st time...tryin to tighten up bolts after the fact is a royal pita!

yea i used to rock the SSauto, sooo i was puting on taking off putting on.... ect and yea those bolts are a major bitch.
i dont understand why they dont offer Left hand threaded studs...
