yeahhh my car doesnt pass smog either and i called the dmv and they said that you can get an extension and they will give you as much time as you need so that you can get it to pass but call them and ask cause that will give you time to find the problem.

Don't bother calling, just go in there and be honest about your situation. They are not stingy with extensions.

i get white smoke up in the high end too but i passed alright. the guy doesnt rev the motor pass 3k here in renton, WA. if theres coolant in it then i really have no idea how that happens if your head isn't warped or no crack in the black since you just got a new head gasket.
One thing i was thinking off if you want to cheat the system, is to run water instead of coolant or mix 80/20 or 90/10 water vs coolant. IF you are indeedly getting coolant into your cylinders. but dont do that for long because water boils and freezes in engines without engine coolant mix. i dont endorse this experiment, i prefer to do things the right way but if you want theres an idea.
One thing i know to help you pass, is to run the car for atleast 30 minutes before the test so it warms up your cat and everything is tippy toppy.
wonder if water condensation shows up on the emissiosn test?

Extensions are given out with proof that your failed smog. Have you tried changing the catalytic converter? That usually helps a lot.
If you're strapped on cash, CA does offer repair assistance to those who qualify. For more information, visit: http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/st...6.htm
Hope that helps!
BTW, what is a b18b7? Do you mean b18b1?

damnit sorry i meant to put d15b7, for some reason i keep thinkin the engine i have is a b18b prolly cause i want one so bad, hahaha
If its only smoking in the high rpms you should be fine, when I went to get smogged/BARd they didn't take it much past 4000RPMs. But I would check your cat and run some fuel system cleaner and some of the guranteed to pass stuff, even though it means another oil change(It helps a lot).
Dude, a tailpipe smoking ride that needs to pass smog, you are in a tough predicament. Hmmmm..... what you're going to have to do is go get another DMV extention until you rack up enough dough to fix your little issue. Go to the DMV, show them that your ride didn't pass smog, tell the DMV clerk that you need at least another month. Good luck!
