Really depends on taste. I prefer B&M, some people like skunk 2, unorthodox, etc... just search and bunch of threads will come up.

Shortens the throws and some relocate the shifter closer to the driver.

Skunk2 Dual Bend here, so worth it.

Short shifters decrease the length of your throw.

gives you a tight positive shift feel as well as letting you shift faster, but thats regulated by the tranny anyways

there's two kinds of short shifters. one replaces the complete shift bar and what it does it shorten "throws." for example, lets say its a 4" throw from 3rd gear to 4th gear. you can shorten that to 2", the time it takes for you to physically move the shifter to connect over to linkages shortens and is quicker for you to change gears. OR, you can be an idiot like some people i've seen and cut your shifter bar shorter, what that does is "shorten" your shifter bar and increase your throw because the fulcrum is thrown off. imo, just get a short shifter off of ebay to try, its like 5 bucks usually shipped to you. then u can try other brands and stuff, cuz nice ones are like $100.

[QUOTE=axtran] OR, you can be an idiot like some people i've seen and cut your shifter bar shorter, what that does is "shorten" your shifter bar and increase your throw because the fulcrum is thrown off. QUOTE] Actually, the throw is shortened in this way as well, however, as the fulcrum is displaced upwards, the effort required to shift gears is increased as well as the actual precision of the movement. So you are right about the "idiot", but dead wrong on the physics.
