Installing konis, what else can I upgrade/replace??
I'm installing my konis in a few days and would like to know if there are any bushings that I could replace while I have everything off my car and easy access. My car has 150k miles so I know something is worn out
Pics would helps, too.
how about these?
Front Strut Rod Bushings

these go on the top hats to replace #7 correct?

I just went through the exact same process you did about 5 months ago. I replaced all the rubber in the pic you showed, but I used the OEM stuff. I think, depending on price, OEM would be better for these bushings. Basically they are there to isolate the movement of the shock from the body of the car. They don't control the movement of the suspension like other bushings do. So you shouldn't see any increase on performance over OEM bushings, but may see an increase in road noise.
Lets see, you'll also need to rent or buy, I bought, a pitman arm puller to make it easier to remove the rear struts.
Its also recomended that you put an aftermarket shock boot, or what most use a stearing rack cover over the shocks. The OEM dust cover won't fit on the Koni's.
You didn't mention if you have aftermarket springs. I'm guessing you do, I think I may be the only one here with the OEM springs on Koni's. Don't forget to trim the bump stop if you lower the car any.
If you have any questions about it tons of people have changed struts.
