Tranny - humming noise - help please
I have a 2000 GSR engine and tranny in my hatch. I had some work done on the tranny in the past (replaced several parts due to damage such as synchros and shift fork). All of the grinding and other problems have been fixed, however, I still have a metal humming noise coming from the tranny when it's under load - basically anything over 3.5k RPM in 2-5 gears.
The noise goes away completely when I step on the gas, or when I take it out of gear. It's only audible when I am in gear above 3.5k and coasting/coming to a stop, etc.
Can you guys please give me some opinions on what you think this may be? I need to make a decision on whether I should repair or replace this tranny, and I wanted to get a range of options or potential issues of what could be wrong.
TIA
