anyone in here know how quick a ZC DOHC is in an 89 civic hb? I just ordered one and I heard its pretty quick in a 2000 pound car.

Post some feedback on if i should go all motor or forced induction.

wow those are some good numbers im suprised. Ive seen alot of this around on other forumns and im gettin pretty pumped to put it in.

 

well...i have a dohc zc in my 91 si..i/he/e with zc lsd tranny and on a **** track with 2.4 60fts and i ran a 16 flat at 89mph..15.6,15.7 deffinitly possiable. not great but not bad..turbo coming soon for me at 10lbs im hoping for low 14's

Seriously Kick it with that load of elephant ****. not even close to that, maybe boosted. or with a rocket attached to the roof. My ol' wrx did a little better than that and that thing had 250hp and awd.

15's for sure man, i have that in my 90 Si hatch, fun little motor. not that fast but its good for the money and still surprises a lot of ppl when you pull on them.

 

anyone know of any good swap guides out there? Im going to be doing this swap myself, and ive never done this before.

you guys also have to keep in mind that weight is a huge factor. Just because your wrx has 250 hp doesnt really mean ****. How much does one of those things weigh?

Weight doesn't mean jack when you are making a statement that has a 99.99% probability of being false.
A ZC w/ I/H/E and a"chipped ecu" will not run a 14.2, he would have had a crazy high trap speed to go along with it, probably 150mph.

exactly. With a 55 shot. You are not gonna get 2 tenths of a second slower than that all motor with only a "chipped ecu" difference

That would mean a 55 shot is only worth 2 tenths of a second.

I am going to have to throw the BullSh!t flag in on this one. Not only are your faking the funk, but now you are trying to back it up. I ran 14.1 with 141 hp and 106tq in a vehicle that weighed 1994lbs (I weighed it). So you are telling me you did that with just 115hp in a 2100lbs + car?. I should have brought boots with me into this thread.

Its a possibility that it is true, ive seen numerous people post that they have ran 14's with I/H/E ecu, flywheel ect...

it really isnt that hard to believe due to the fact that weight to hp ratio makes a dramatic impact on performance.

example: Im sure you all have been low on gas before, and as you can tell there is a very noticeable "peppiness to the car"
