Default Does the engine oil have to be drained to pull an engine.

I am going to be doing a couple swaps over the next couple days, I have done one before, but I was wondering if the engine oil has to be drained to pull the engine, to me it doesn't seem like it has to be drained, are there any hose that will have to be diconnected that would make the oil run out.
