Is that compressor surge I hear on the first shift? Otherwise sounds pretty sick.

I'd love to make some tech out of this post.
I'm curious as to the flat spot in the middle of the dyno graph and what its a function of.

To low of a vtec xover? too high? It feels out of place to me for some reason, can't put my finger on it.

IMO the V-TEC was set too high or something else was wrong, only with a .bin can we know.

The turbo doesn't drop off that's just the tuner stopping there. He let off the the throttle and then stopped the run. As to why that was I don't know either. Looks like torque was still holding so there's no reason to stop, maybe misfiring issues...who knows......too many questions and not enough info so unless someone can answer these with info about the car everything is up to debate

Well from my experience speaking with the previous owner and the tuner (superdave), is the owner was extremely paranoid about the motor going pop, so he had him tune it very conservativly and w/o pushing it any where near its redline. GeeGolly I hope it's still tuned after 7.8k rpm or I'm in trouble

Which is funny, because if thats the Illinois car I think it is... I pushed him to get real engine management and have it tuned. I'd be suprised he didn't want it fully tuned once he got to that point.

Hey Joe, Its a little off topic but where did you bring your itr to get tuned.
I am also Upstate NY (Amsterdam), and it seems like the closest tuner is RPM in Queens,NY. Im also going to be running boost on my gs-r this summer.

I'm loving the vid. I also like your gauges, I was planning on getting a Autometer Cobalt series gauge set but yours look nice also. Is the boost gauge electric? Also, we must see engine bay shots!

First of all, I was not "extremely paranoid" about anything. There is nothing wrong with being a little conservating when you are dealing with a $10,000 investment. Second, that curve you are looking at is not the final curve. The car was first tuned at wide open throttle on a dyno just to get the top end. After that, it was street tuned for several hours to creat a smoother curve all the way through. So, like i said, what you are seeing is not how the car is currently tuned. The car was fully tuned.
