I got rear ended the other day, no damage on my car though, the guy was goin pretty slow and he barely hit me (I think he stopped just in time), but now when I'm at a stop or idling, my muffler shakes. It's not loud but really annoying, and it only happens sometimes. I know that sounds weird, but it doesn't shake when I start the car neither. It's only when I been driving for awhile (probably when the engine warms up). anyone know what I should check? anyone had this problem before?

 

Well if it is shaking it obviously got knocked loose. Take it to a muffler shop.

 

The exhaust on my ep3 rattled as well. Just get under the car and shake the exhaust to find out WHERE its rattling. Mine was my one of my hangers, I just put some silicone tubing around it.

 

Is it stock? Could be the heat shield.

I heard it shaking again today, and I got out and put my foot under the muffler to push it up a little and it stopped. took my foot away and it was shaking again.

 

So can you deduce what needs to be fixed now?

 

The shaking is because you're a bit low on VTEC Fluid. Check if you're running a hi-flow cat.

 

if its your oem exhaust its probably the muffler heat guard ratting look under and check it out. make sure your car has been running for a while too.
