So some bad news today with the DC4...hole in exhaust & bad compression...
okay so i was driving to work today (sears) and as soon as i get off the offramp i step on the gas a little and i noticed my car sounds weird. and a sudden lost of power. i was like oh noes. so i carefully drove my car and parked it. after work i went to my car and started it up i was like wow this sounds pretty hardcore so i decided not to drive it home. i take a look underneath my car and i couldnt see anything noticably wrong. so i call up my homie and describe the problem and he comes. i swear it sounded like i was running open headers. being that i was at sears i decided to buy a compression test kit and some other random crap for my car. he comes and we think that a bolt may have come loose on my exhaust.
carefully drive home staying under 2k the whole time and i get a fat *** headache just listening to my shitty car. i park it there and go to my brothers house to get his jack and jack stands and some eats. come back and do a compression test. and this is what came up
140 140 130 150
and i heard it should be around 180-220(optimal)
i dont know what is wrong maybe a leak who knows. im like shucks that sucks.
next we jack up the car.. realized that when i swapped wheels the radials were facing the wrong way so we switched them. also i have horrible camber.
we go underneath and look and guess what we find..
underneath the flange is a fat *** hole... oh golly. what am i going to do? i was thinking maybe weld it shut but it was pretty damn weird i dont know how wed be able to menuever welding it. my mom said take it to the stealership tomorrow and have them fix it. boo.
now the question is:
you guys think the hole has been there this whole time? if not what would have caused it? i mean i didnt drive it anyway out of the normal. its just a stock exhaust with a mugen twin loop replica muffler.
and also.. what can i do to fix my compression.

Cliffs: bad compression results, hole under flange on exhaust. what can i do

the reason your compression was low is because you probably did the test wrong. the car nees to be a operation temp, throttle at WOT, ecu fuse and dizzy unplugged, and the engine cranked over 5 times.

yea, you have to unplugg the dizzy and the ecu fuse, the ecu fuse is so the ecu doesnt pump fuel into the cylinders and the dizzy so you dont send usless spark to the plugs and fry your ignition coil.

Like projectTeg stated, ecu fuse and dizzy unplugged.
WOT is Wide Open Throttle, keep the gas pedal to the floor.
Turn the ignition to on, and hold it there for 5 to 8 revolutions (do not turn the key on and off 5 to 8 times) each cylinder.
Note: A weak battery will turn over slower and may give you a lower reading.
Compression may be escaping from the exhaust, a gasket, etc. (But, the very low reading may be more due to incorrect test procedures.)
A lowered car can easily hit something to damage the exhaust. When I had my first car, the exhaust was damaged that way, I brought it to a muffler shop to let them weld a new piece in where the damage was. (It didn't totally fix the noise, but did quiet it down.) -- That's years ago.

A muffler shop usually don't weld over the hole in the exhaust, they cut the damage section out, and weld a new section of pipe to the rest of the existing exhaust tubing. They may have to unbolt part of the exhaust first.

yes it is. and your engine is fine; i tested my integra almost 2 years ago, and i got 150 across all 4; i didnt desable the fuel injection. 25k later shes still running just as strong as ever.

you think my ignition coils might have gotten messed up cause of my improper compression testing method?
and also how much you think a honda dealership will charge to replace whatever peice of the piping has a hole in it.

Your ignition coils are probably fine.
The dealership will probably replace the whole part, probably several hundred dollars for part and labor.

that sux. i would just go to a muffler shop, theyll fix it for pretty cheap.

jus take it to a muffler shop to get it welded .. shouldnt cost too much .. 140ish on dc4s arent bad .. the numbers are constant and the numbers arent too low .. dc2s are the ones that usually get into the 200s
haha nope they owned me and one of their arguments was that they know the integra is runnng well already and has no problems with it but ive been running into problems like every other week. although this summer im for sure selling this hoe and getting my ek.
